Our Recycling Centres

Scouts WA Recycling operates over-the-counter refund points and commercial collection services, offering our community a better way to recycle – and make a difference to young people in the process!

Getting involved is easy!

It’s as simple as Save > Return > Earn!

1

Save up your Recyclables

Look for the 10c mark on your containers, and save them up in bags (if you don’t have any we can give you some for free!)

2

Return them to a Scouts WA depot

Bring your bags of eligible containers back to one of our four depots across Perth in Kenwick, Malaga, Cockburn, and Wangara.

3

Earn or donate to Scouts WA!

Earn 10c per eligible container paid in cash or a direct deposit – or you can choose to donate your earnings to Scouts WA!

What containers can be recycled?

The easiest way to check if your container is eligible is to look for the 10 cent mark. You might see something like: 10 cent refund at refund points in participating state/territory of purchase. This often appears near the barcode.

Scouts WA Recycling follows the Government’s Containers for Change guidelines when accepting containers. We accept most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers in sizes between 150 millilitres and 3 litres. Make sure you take off the lids — we recycle those too, just separately.

Eligible containers:

  • Display the 10c mark
  • Have contained a beverage product that is not excluded from the scheme.
  • Are made of recyclable materials that are eligible for a refund. Containers made of non-recyclable materials cannot be accepted.
  • Are between 150mL and 3L in capacity.
  • Need to be empty – we also encourage lids off and recycled seperately, helping to make sure every part of your container is recycled.

Ineligible containers:

  • Cordials, wine bottles, pure spirit bottles and plain milk are not included in the scheme so containers that have held these products are not eligible for a refund.
  • Crushed:  most refund points can’t accept containers that have been crushed.
