Gain Nationally Recognised Qualifications at NO COST!

The Scouts Australia Institute of Training (SAIT) provides members of Scouts Australia with a no-cost pathway to gain nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications. Skills developed through the Youth Program and Adult Training & Development can be assessed through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts, and adult members can have their experience in leadership, teamwork, outdoor activities, and organisation formally recognised, leading to partial or full qualifications—up to Advanced Diploma level.

Qualifications through Scouts Australia Institute of Training are issued at no cost to members of Scouts Australia and Girl Guides Australia.

Venturer Scouts

By attending and fully participating in Venturer Scouts, members will be able to put their experiences towards accreditation for a qualification which may count towards their secondary school certificate. Most of these are Certificate II qualifications.

Certificate III and higher qualifications are usually completed by Venturer Scouts as they finish their time in the section and are often best paired with the King’s Scout Award. Some members ‘not people’ also go on to complete these qualifications as they transition into Rover Scouts.

Adult Members and Rover Scouts

Adults and Rover Scouts are well positioned to access a wide range of available qualifications.

The following list provides links to achievement pathways. It is important that youth members work with leaders to achieve these goals, as each qualification is obtained through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).Participants need to plan their journey and collect evidence along the way to be successfully accredited.
